General Electric and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers to invest in Hara Software


Jun 24, 2011 (Datamonitor Financial Deals Tracker via COMTEX) -- General Electric Company (GE), an industrial conglomerate, and its venture capital partner Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), have agreed to invest in Hara Software, Inc., a US-based provider of on-demand environmental and energy management software solutions. Both the companies are based in the US.



Concurrently, GE and its venture capital partners are investing a total of $63 million in nine other companies, which include, Ember Corporation, GMZ Energy, Inc., Nuventix, Inc., On Ramp Wireless, Inc., Project FROG, Inc., SunRun, Inc., Viridity Energy, Inc., VPhase plc and WiTricity Corporation, as part of its $200 million GE ecomagination Challenge.

GE's venture capital partners include, Emerald Technology Ventures AG, Foundation Capital, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), RockPort Capital Partners and Carbon Trust Investments Limited.
